3 Easy Last Minute DIY Mother's Day gifts using essential oils

Hi, friends! Can you believe the month of April is already almost over? If you’re like me and have absolutely no handle on life, you may not be staying up to date on upcoming events – like Mother’s Day happening in a few weeks!

3 Simple & Quick Mother's Day DIY gift ideas using essential oils

I wanted to share 3 easy DIY gifts you can make for the mamas in your life that only take a few minutes each! If you read my post on super easy Christmas DIY gifts, you’ll find some similarities 😉

Luxury Mama Sugar Scrub

Luxury Mama Sugar Scrub using lavender and orange essential oils, coconut oil and sugar

Sugar scrub is a super easy way to add some luxury to your bath routine. You only need brown/coarse grained sugar, coconut oil, and essential oils of your choice. My recipe for this version uses lavender and orange!

  • 4 oz glass jar
  • 1/4 cup cold pressed coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup coarse grained sugar
  • 20 drops each lavender + orange essential oils

Mix up your sugar and coconut oil, then drop in your EOs and stir. That’s literally all you need to do. This sugar scrub is creamy and delicious and will bring a smile to any mama who needs some self care ASAP (which is every mom, btw). You can even make a cute label for it like I did!

Chill Mama Perfume Roller

I love essential oil rollers bc they do double duty: they smell amazing and also help support your body/brain/emotions. One of my favorite combos to make is this one with Young Living‘s White Angelica blend and Bergamot. It’s soothing for those challenging mama days, and it also just smells heavenly.

  • 10 mL roller bottle
  • 15 drops each of White Angelica + Bergamot essential oils
  • Liquid carrier oil (such as fractionated coconut oil, jojoba oil, etc)

Drop your essential oils in the bottle first, then fill the rest of the way with carrier oil. That’s it! Put the cap on and name it something fun.

Movie Star Mama Facial Serum

DIY facial serum using frankincense, lavender and geranium essential oils

I’ve been using the oil cleansing method for my face wash routine for about a year and a half now, and it has radically changed my skin. Seriously! I’ve also found that using simple natural elements as a part of the rest of my skin care routine have worked so much better than complicated or store bought items (except for my favorite moisturizer of all time, Young Living’s ART Light Moisturizer!). You can make this facial serum in just a couple easy steps, and it will make mom’s skin feel like a million bucks!

Jojoba oil is a great base for a facial serum because it closely mimics our own sebum. Rosehip and argan oil and rich in vitamins and have anti-aging benefits. A note on these carrier oils: you always want to find cold pressed oils, because this ensures that their nutrients have not been lost through a heated refining process.

Like you did in the roller bottle, drop your EOs in first, then fill halfway with jojoba, another quarter with rosehip and then the rest with argan oil. Feel free to put a cute label on this one too!

Other essential oils that are great for skin!

There are more than a few other essential oils that have amazing skin benefits, if you want to splurge a little more: Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood, Manuka and Rose. In fact, Tisserand Institute recently put out a study on the benefits of sandalwood on your skin!

All three of these DIY gifts are really quick to put together. I get all of my glass supplies from Amazon (linked throughout this post), and 2-day shipping will make even a last-minute attempt at this possible! I love how they look and I love making cute labels for everything. As my mom always said, presentation is everything! You can check out my favorites below.
