Better Together Blanket: Earth Day Crochet Pattern

This corner to corner crochet blanket depicts the world map within a heart. Inspired by the blanket square, this afghan is my tribute to the Earth that provides for us, and to the notion that we are, well, better together 🙂

This premium pattern can be found in my Etsy and Ravelry shops.

Earth day c2c graphgan

It’s not quite Spring yet, but the weather is warming up and I’m ready to start thinking about my favorite holiday – Earth Day! My deep interest (obsession) with the Earth is no secret, and I find any way I can to bring all my interests together.

This C2C throw blanket is the sequel to the Better Together Blanket Square that I designed in Spring of 2020. The world is truly a better place when we come together for the greater good. Now, two years later, I still believe that.

In true Earth Day fashion, I used stash yarn to design and complete this project. I think this could be a great scrapghan, even using different shades of green for the continents! (Please someone do this and show me, I’d love to see).

The pattern includes two sizes: lapghan (36×48 inches) and throw (40×60 inches). Two styles of written instructions and a graph are provided for both sizes. The first style contains block style color square with stitch counts, and the second includes color descriptors as well as stitch counts. This is to account for differences in readability preferences. The color work on this pattern is irregular and good readability is important!

I’ve started using cotton yarn for many of my projects. Check out my cotton patterns, scrap yarn ideas, and other posts in the sustainability series:
